Friday – Day 02
Ellen’s Stardust Diner, Downtown Manhattan, 9/11 Memorial, Hamilton On Broadway
✓ VIP Breakfast at Ellen’s Stardust Diner – Meet at Ellen’s Diner at 9am
✓ Downtown NYC Guided Tour, Greenwich Village Food Tour & 9/11 Memorial – Depart Ellen’s at 10am | return to hotel by 3:30pm
✓ Broadway Musical Hamilton – Show time from 8 – 10:55pm
Meet at the legendary Ellen’s Stardust Diner, home of the singing waitstaff, for a VIP front-of-the-line breakfast. You will be whisked ahead of the typical 2-hour wait to be seated for an iconic New York dining experience. After breakfast, we will transport you in our luxury coach for a tour of downtown NYC in Lower Manhattan including a Food Tour of Greenwich Village with your local guide. New York City began in downtown Manhattan, and today the neighborhoods of downtown remain some of the most vital and interesting in all of the Big Apple – and of the world. On this tour, we will explore what makes these areas so great, both on foot and via motor coach, including delicious food tastings in one of NYC’s most beloved neighborhoods.
Your tour will begin at Washington Square Park, where everything that defines Greenwich Village can be seen in one place. Once the stomping grounds of the Bohemians, the beat poets, and folk musicians such as Bob Dylan, this open square offers surprises and delights on every visit. In Greenwich Village, you’ll experience a delectably diverse lineup of food establishments that cater to every taste. On this walking tour, you will visit 4 great destinations and taste their delicious offerings. Along the way, you will learn about the unique culture that makes Greenwich Village a little different from every other neighborhood in NYC. Next, you will get back on the coach and head to Chinatown via SoHo, to explore the former industrial hub with its cast-iron buildings that turned into a mecca of art galleries, shopping, and fashion.
You will be dropped in Chinatown for a 30-minute guided walk through one of Manhattan’s last ethnic neighborhoods, and the oldest of NYC’s 5 Chinatowns. A walk through this district is like entering a new country. Mandarin and Cantonese are the primary languages on the streets. Next, our coach will take you to the Financial District, the oldest part of NYC. Today the area is filled with skyscrapers and serves as the epicenter of the global economy. Your walking tour includes stops at Battery Park, the Charging Bull Statue, Canyon of Heroes, Wall Street, the Federal Reserve of New York, and One World Trade Center, ending at the 9/11 Memorial, a place of remembrance in the center of the rebuilt World Trade Center area.
At this time, you have the option to take our coach back to the hotel, or stay to visit the 9/11 Museum or One World Observatory on your own as one of our add-on options. After your return transfer to the hotel, take some time to relax, have a leisurely dinner and get ready to watch the curtain rise from either the orchestra or front mezzanine on Broadway’s Hamilton, winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical. This is one of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time, with tickets sold out months in advance of performances. Hamilton brings to stage the life and times of Alexander Hamilton, an ambitious founding father who rose from bastard orphan to George Washington’s right-hand man, rebel to war hero, a loving husband caught in the country’s first sex scandal, to the Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy.
Saturday – Day 03
Chelsea District, Dinner Cruise
✓ High Line Park and Meatpacking District Guided Tour, Chelsea Market – Depart hotel at 9:30am | return by 3pm
✓ Bateaux Dinner Cruise with Statue of Liberty viewing – Hotel pick-up 5:45pm | Board at 6:15pm | Cruise 7:00- 10:00pm | return to hotel by 3pm
After your complimentary breakfast, we will transport you in a luxury coach to Chelsea for a 2-hour guided walking tour of High Line Park and the Meatpacking District, and end with a visit to Chelsea Market, the former factory converted into the city’s best food court. Discover New York’s most exciting new park and learn about the grisly history of the Meatpacking District, as well as Chelsea and its wonderful market. Your tour will begin on The High Line, a disused, elevated railway line that has been brought back to life as a beautifully designed 1.45-mile-long park in the sky, dotted with pieces of public art. Stroll through the Chelsea neighborhood from a unique vantage point, treading along the path once traversed by fire-breathing locomotives. Enjoy surprising views of the Hudson River. You will see and hear about the Death Avenue and West Side Cowboys, Chelsea Piers, Whitney Museum of American Art, Gansevoort Market Meat Center, and so much more in this historical area of New York.
Chelsea Market, considered one of the greatest indoor food and retail marketplaces in the world today, is housed in the former Nabisco Factory and is said to be where Oreo cookies were invented. Today, it is a popular destination for foodies, with its unique and eclectic gourmet offerings, pop-up artisan shops, and flea markets full of jewelry, art, apparel, and accessories. As you shop and dine, don’t forget to look around and enjoy the building’s historical charms, including the iconic fountain crafted with discarded drill bits and exposed pipe from the former Nabisco factory.
Your guide will give you an overview of the market before you are off to spend free time exploring the Chelsea Market shops on your own, have lunch at one of the fantastic market restaurants, or visit some Chelsea art galleries just down the street. You will then be transported back to the hotel to get ready for an unforgettably elegant experience aboard the Bateaux New York. Enjoy a three-hour luxury dinner cruise on the East and Hudson Rivers and see iconic views of this famous city from the glass-enclosed deck. Inspired by European design, your cruise on the Bateaux offers a unique, luxurious perspective from the water. No matter the occasion, a dinner cruise in New York City is sure to create an unforgettable night. Dine the night away with live entertainment and soak in the skyline views, including a close-up look at the Statue of Liberty.
